October 4, 2017 (St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana): Deborah Keller, CEO of Deborah D. Keller & Partners, LLC was recently recognized by the American Society of Civil Engineers. Keller was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award by both the ASCE New Orleans Branch and ASCE Louisiana Section for over 35 years of practice within civil engineering.
The St. Bernard Parish Hospital Service District Board has approved a Strategic Partnership with Ochsner Health System (Ochsner) to continue the day-to-day management of St. Bernard Parish Hospital (SBPH). This long-term agreement will enable Ochsner, the Hospital Board and SBPH to stabilize the hospital and improve clinical and operational programs while building upon the opportunities identified during the 90-Day Assessment and the more than $2 million realized in operational savings since the cooperative endeavor agreement was signed in October 2016.
Healthy Solutions Pharmacy and Medical Supplies has announced plans to open its doors in September. Located along Judge Perez Dr. in Chalmette, owners Joshua and Lori Norrell are striving to enhance St. Bernard Parish by providing vital products and services to residents.
The St. Bernard Economic Development Foundation (SBEDF) is excited to welcome a new SONIC Drive-In to St. Bernard Parish. SONIC Drive-In is the nation’s largest chain of drive-in restaurants with more than 3,500 drive-ins serving approximately 3 million customers every day.
Tractor Supply Co., the largest rural lifestyle retail store in the U.S., has broken ground on a site in Meraux for a store that will open later this fall. The property was owned by the Meraux Foundation and identified as an ideal location for the new retail store through a site selection program managed by SBEDF.
For the first time, SBEDF traveled to the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) RECon, the world’s largest retail real estate convention from May 21-24 in Las Vegas. The annual conference attracted over 37,000 attendees from 58 countries.
In honor of National Economic Development Week, I believe it is important to explain the significance of economic development and the role of the St. Bernard Economic Development Foundation (SBEDF) in our community.
